The Town of Cary has declared a State of Emergency and closed Town Hall and all staffed facilities. Critical services including police, fire, sanitation, water distribution, wastewater, inspections and permits, 911, and 311 will continue uninterrupted. All Cary Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources facilities are now closed and programming, including classes, events, and camps, is canceled until further notice. Facility reservations are canceled as well. This action follows the county and statewide orders restricting public gatherings, and is taken to encourage social distancing and prioritize the health of Cary's citizens. The Town of Cary youth sports programs provide a fun learning and growing experience. Youth can benefit from league play in baseball, softball, volleyball, and basketball as well as a variety of sports camps/clinics in volleyball, baseball, golf, softball, tennis, and basketball. These programs provide a competitive recreation opportunity that promotes fitness and wellness to participants through team and individual league play. The goals of the programs include fun, participation, skill development, and sportsmanship.

Interested in a sport or recreational activity not offered by the town? Other area organizations may offer those sports and recreational activities. The Town of Cary is not affiliated with any of these organizations so please contact them directly.
The Town of Cary relies on volunteer coaches for youth sports leagues. Coaches must be available for weekly practice and games. Each coach is required to be certified by the National Youth Sports Coaches Association and to pass a background check. It is important that coaches teach sportsmanship as well as sports skills. Anyone interested in coaching should contact Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources at (919) 469-4062 for more information.
Inclement Weather Procedure
In the event of inclement weather, a decision regarding games will be made by staff. Information will be online at games.townofcarync.gov. A recording will also be on the Weather Cancellation Line at (919) 319-4500. Updates are made at 3 p.m. each weekday, 7 a.m. on Saturday, and 12 p.m. on Sunday. If a decision is made after these times, it will be made at the facility by the officials.
