Ongoing Environmental Outreach Opportunities

All year long, the Town of Cary is committed to protecting and preserving the natural environment and we want you to be a part of it. Explore our current community environmental opportunities below.

Cary Green Neighborhood Program

As a continuation of the long-standing Block Leader Program, the Cary Green Neighborhood Program offers a wide range of action-oriented projects for individuals and groups to make meaningful environmental impacts in their communities. Projects can take place in neighborhoods, schools, places of worship, or anywhere you build community.

Community Gardens and Urban Agriculture

Join us in growing a more sustainable future through community gardening and urban agriculture. Learn about how you can grow green by creating a new community garden in Cary or participating in an existing garden program.

Environmental Education

As a sign of our commitment to being good stewards of our finite natural resources, we provide useful environmental education options to our community. Students of all ages can learn more about living green the Cary way with our available workshops, facilities, and teacher resources.

Environmental Events

Each year we host free environmental outreach events that make it fun and easy for our citizens to learn more about living green in Cary. These events offer opportunities to participate locally in national celebrations, reduce waste and maintain the environmental health of our community.

Environmental Volunteering

In support of our culture of conservation, we support environmental volunteer options to help keep Cary clean and forever green through our Spruce and Adopt a Spot programs. Our award-winning volunteer programs connect thousands of volunteers every year with diverse service opportunities, helping to make Cary one of the best places to live, work and play!
