Welcome to the Garden!

Carpenter Park Community Garden is a communal space managed by the Town of Cary that offers raised beds for annual rental as well as public education beds for groups and volunteers. We invite renters to grow whatever they like, and the garden boasts diverse veggies, fruits, and flowers throughout the year. We also maintain native plant habitat in the border surrounding the garden to support pollinators that provide numerous ecological benefits including increased produce yields in the garden.

Garden Open Houses

Join us for a Garden Open House on the third Saturday of the month April - October. Explore the garden, help water and weed, and participate in a kid-friendly art activity during this free community event.

    Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are always needed to help us build, plant, and maintain our educational and ornamental garden beds. Although most of the community garden plots are allocated for individual rental, we have reserved several plots for general community use. These beds are perfect for one-time garden projects for groups or individuals. Plan a work day, earn a badge, or just enjoy working in the dirt for an afternoon! See our Spruce Program for more on how you can be a garden volunteer.

    Garden Bed Rental

The annual application for garden bed rental will reopen in December 2020.

Construction of Carpenter Park began in the summer of 2014 and included a plan for a community garden as one of its features. The park was funded in the Bond Referendum passed by Cary Citizens in 2012.
