This map shows which streets are maintained by the North Carolina Department of Transportation. NCDOT maintains most of the major thoroughfares within Cary’s town limits, meaning they are responsible for street maintenance including pothole repair and street repaving. Potholes on NCDOT-maintained streets can be reported here.

The Town of Cary collaborates with the NCDOT to get the most up-to-date information regarding the NCDOT's street repaving plans in Cary. The list below includes the most recent update we have received from the NCDOT:

Maynard/Chapel Hill Road Resurfacing
The following streets are being repaved from spring 2018 to fall 2019

  • Maynard Road from NC 54/Chapel Hill Road clockwise to High House Road
  • Chapel Hill Road from NW Maynard Road to Linda Drive and from Weston Parkway to Perimeter Park Drive
  • Louis Stephens Drive from Morrisville Carpenter Road to McCrimmon Parkway

The following streets are scheduled to be repaved from spring 2019 to winter 2019

  • Chapel Hill Road from NC 54/NE Maynard Road to  
  • Piney Plains Road from Dillard Drive to Walnut Street
  • Jones Franklin Road from Tryon Road to Lowe's Home Improvement entrance way
  • Evans Road from Fishers Creek Court to Aviation Parkway
  • SE Cary Parkway from Tryon Road to Kildaire Farm Road
  • Dillard Drive from Jones Franklin Road to just west of Smith Drive
  • Smith Drive from Olive Road to Dillard Drive
  • Gregson Drive from Old Raleigh Road/Edinburgh Drive South to US 64
  • Prince Drive from Jones Franklin Road to Tryon Road
  • Jenks Road from Green Level Church Road to US 64
  • Streets within the Medfield Estates and King Subdivisions

NCDOT Future Street Repaving
There is some uncertainty as to the exact start date of this project due to NCDOT funding.  Construction could start as earlier as Summer 2020; however, it is possible it will be delayed until 2021.

  • North Harrison Avenue from I-40 to NC 54
  • High House Road from Davis Drive to Old Apex Road
  • Davis Drive from US 64 to Farmpond Drive
  • Trelawney Lane from Roberts Road to Jenks Road
  • Beaver Dam Road from Green Level Church Road to Green Level West Road
  • Kit Creek Road from NC 55 to Davis Drive
  • Development Drive from Davis Drive to Louis Stephens Road
  • Wade Drive from NC 55 to end of NCDOT maintenance
